A-CAN-EA is a network of member organizations from the Eastern Africa region committed to combating harmful climate change. This network is based on trust, openness and democracy. It is first a network of organizations brought together by a common concern.

Mission
A-CAN-EA’s mission is to support and empower civil society organizations within the Eastern Africa region to influence the design and development of an effective regional strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and ensure its implementation at regional, national and local levels in the promotion of equity and sustainable development.
Vision
The vision of A-CAN-EA is an Eastern Africa region striving actively towards and achieving the protection of the global climate in a manner which promotes equity and social justice between peoples’ sustainable development of all communities, and protection of the global environment. A-CAN-EA unites to work towards this vision.
Our Objectives
To promote the protection of the global climate from dangerous human interference; and so to facilitate the radical transformation in the way we use resources, the land.
To promote wise use of natural resources and development that meets needs of present generation without compromising ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
To initiate and facilitate dialogue and conflict resolution over natural resource management conflicts across the African Continent
To organize,support,inspire and coordinate its members to take effective action on climate change,as a region
To enhance and protect citizens’ rights, freedoms and the sharing of common benefits from sustainable environmental management.
To work closely with local, national and international associations, societies or agencies on matters of Climate Change and the environment.
